The Make a Film with your Phone course is facilitated by Darcy Hegarty. Before starting a career in filmmaking and acting, he worked at Apple in Australia, Canada and the UK. During this period he spent time training and developing employees from their on-boarding to technical training and new product capabilities.

Darcy was trained by Apple in facilitation, hardware repair and software troubleshooting. Experience in these areas has provided him with a keen insight of how phones operate, how they can be used creatively to develop and capture your project and how best to convey this information to a group of students, regardless of their current skill level.

He currently works as a content creator and video editor with Screencasts Online, generating weekly instructional videos on Apple based apps across all platforms.

Darcy currently studies at the Melbourne Actors Lab in St Kilda, Melbourne and is beginning pre-production on an original short film titled ‘Touch’. This project will be shot entirely on iPhone.
